Sprains, Strains, and Fractures
The feet and ankles work together to provide support and mobility to the body. A foot or ankle sprain and strain are soft tissue injuries. A sprain occurs when ligaments are stretched beyond their limit – or even torn.
A strain is when damage occurs to muscles and tendons as a result of a joint being pulled or stretched too far. Unlike strains and sprains, a fracture is actually a break in the bone.
