About

Dr. Muruganand Mylswamy – M.B.B.S, MS(General Surgery), Dip.Lap, FIAGES graduated M.B.B.S from Sri Jagathguru Jeyadeva Murugarajendra Medical College(JJMMC), Davangere, Karnataka, India in 1999. Since then his career has been through surgical specialties. He was working in MCV ENT hospital,Pollachi, Cardio thoracic & vascular surgery and Department of General surgery as registrar at KMCH, Coimbatore before his postgraduation. He completed his post-graduation in General surgery from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal in the year 2009. After which he was working in Department of Surgical gastroenterology and Liver transplant unit at Manipal hospital, Bangalore till 2012. He got himself trained in Minimal access surgery by doing his Diploma in Laparoscopy in 2012 and Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery (FMAS) by Indian Association of Gastro Endoscopic Surgeons of India (IAGES) in 2013. He holds two international visiting fellowship in Robotic colorectal surgery and Heptobillary surgery while he visited Seoul South korea in 2012. Following which during his career he has also done a Fellowship in advanced laparoscopic surgery (FALS) in Bariatric Surgery at Asian Bariatric,Ahmedabad,Gujarat,India in 2018.

He has been working as a surgeon and as a teaching faculty since 2012 in Department of Surgery at Christian fellowship hospital, Oodanchatharam for a year in 2012 and since 2013 from PSG Institute of Medical Science & Research [PSG IMS&R] and Hospitals, Peelamedu, Coimbatore.He has been performing minor & major surgeries as OPD Daycare and inpatient procedures since then. Endoscopy & Colonoscopy. All Open surgeries and Minimal access laparoscopic surgery as elective and emergency procedures.

He is a life time member in various surgical societies namely Hernia Society of India (HSI), Indian Association of Gastro Endosurgeons of India (IAGES) and the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI). He had undergone hands on training in various surgical techniques such as HEMM Stapler and Video Assisted Anal Fistula Treatment (VAAFT) Training.

As a Teaching faculty involved in academic programmes for MBBS, MS Post graduate, Nursing, Physiotherapy and Pharm-D students during his career and has been a facillitator in organising many CME, conferences and hands on workshops. Apart from clinical research and academics, he has likings towards arts, music and sports. As a part of faculty welfare he has been coordinator for both cultural and sports forum for teaching and non-teaching faculty during his previous tenure at PSG IMS&R and Hospitals. His affection and commitment towards welfare of student’s community has brought him close to them by his involvement in various student activities as a coordinator. He has been the coordinator for student’s annual cultural events, literature & arts club and music club activities.
